My interest in crafts—especially "folk" or "traditional" crafts—led in part to some essays and articles written while I was pursuing M.A. and Ph.D. graduate studies in folklore, at the Cooperstown Graduate Program and at Indiana University.
I was also, for a time, a board member of KCHEA, (the Kentucky Crafts History and Educational Association), and on my own I developed KCHEA's idea for an online Kentucky crafts encyclopedia into the free resource referenced below...
The free online Kentucky Crafts Encyclopedia contains links to many categories of craft work and to crafters, shops, museums, histories and more.
My own essays in the KCE add discussions of important issues in the consideration of crafts and craft production. The essays are at:

Here's a slow-scrolling view of the now-deleted "Crafter of the Month" pages (May-June-July-August 2023) from the Kentucky Crafts Encyclopedia. Some great crafters here!
